Dukdalf History in short

The Dukdalf history dates back to 1952. In this year a Social Workplace Foundation, under the Maassluis municipal flag, was founded. This foundation was later called Dukdalf.  Dukdalf has - as a social workplace – produced camping furniture for a long time and not without success!

Dukdalf started taking on all kinds of production jobs early in the fifties and it wasn’t long before the first piece of steel furniture was created and marketed. The Company for Municipal Social Workplace then developed fast. After having worked from several locations in the Maassluis aera another expansion was needed. In August 1976 a new housing was developed where Dukdalf is still housed today.  The total grounds of this complex is 12.400 m² of which about 8.000 m² offices and production areas.

Dukdalf products are all Made in Holland and are being sold successfully in more than 20 countries worldwide. Dukdalf has always produced steel furniture, which initially were produced for companies and cooperation’s.  In the period in which a lot of dia shows were given Dukdalf produced the projection tables. In one year even a little more than 200.000 of them. Later on Dukdalf also started producing garden and computer furniture but has the last decade specialised itself in producing lightweight furniture made out of aluminium. The accent is on the design and the light weight.  Today the name Dukdalf is found in many national and international brochures and catalogues. The furniture is being sold exclusively via official dealers. Dukdalf is also being presented at many national and international fairs.

The last few years the role of Dukdalf changed from a Social Workplace to a “Human Development Cooperation”, with the attention much more on production on the one side and the guidance of persons to ‘regular work’ on the other hand, instead of being solely a social workspace.

On the 24th of August 2007 the Maassluis government and Thom H van der Boon BV have signed an exclusive brand license agreement. The brand "Dukdalf" is and remains owned by the Maassluis government, but Thom .H. van der Boon b.v. became responsible for the production and distribution of the Dukdalf Camping Furniture
